Flood Cleanup for Rancho Santa Fe Estates — Storm Runoff, Canyon Drainage, and Below-Grade Recovery

A single canyon draw can collect runoff from hundreds of acres of hillside and deliver it to a downstream estate at velocities that overwhelm any residential landscape drainage system. Properties along the canyon corridors near Del Dios Highway and south toward Rancho Del Lago are particularly exposed, and we have responded to RSF flood events where the water carried significant sediment, organic debris, and soil that required removal before any drying could begin.

The private water infrastructure common in Rancho Santa Fe — wells, storage tanks, booster pumps, and septic systems — adds contamination risk to flood events that municipal-water communities do not face. When floodwater inundates a septic drain field or leach line, sewage can backflow into the flood water or surface in saturated soil near the home. We treat all RSF flood events near septic systems as potentially contaminated, deploying full antimicrobial protocols and conducting post-cleanup bacterial testing to verify the property is safe for re-occupancy.
